OUPV "6-pack" Licensing

Investment: $795.00 (online or in-person)

This is a 60-hour USCG approved course to obtain your oupv license. With this license will allow you to carry up to 6 passengers for hire on a vessel, up to 100GT. This type of license is perfect for fishing, hunting and dive charter captains! Use the OUPV checklist to determine if you meet the requirements for this license.

Are you preparing for an ocean race, vessel delivery or just going on a long distance cruising adventure? This is a great course to firm up your skills in vessel operation, navigation, safety, and emergency preparedness.

Oupv to master upgrade

Investment depends on scope (online or in-person)

These courses are aimed at individuals who need the flexibility to carry more than 6 passengers for-hire on inspected or un-inspected vessels. Many commercial companies require this license, at minimum, to be considered for a position.

The license that you qualify for depends on how much sea time you already have and where that time was obtained. Your tonnage specification depends on the size of the vessels that you have operated. If you do not have enough time on large enough vessels for a full 100GT MMC, you can still qualify for a Masters MMC of a smaller tonnage (5 GT, 25 GT, 50 GT, etc.). You can view the requirements for each license by clicking on the USCG checklists below.
