Safe Power Boat Handling (SPH) CERTIFICATION

NASBLA/USCG approved, 16 hour course includes a combination of on-the-water and classroom instruction. We will focus on foundational maneuvering skills in 14’ - 24’ vessel. Students can earn most state boating certifications, such as the CA Boater Card or NJ Boating Safety Certificate through the Safe Powerboat Handling course. If you already have your state boating certification, try the Accelerated SPH course.

Intro to Twin-Screw

This introductory course, is the first step in the large-boat certification process for beginner boat handlers. Learn how to operate your twin-engine vessel effectively and safely! This course is offered as a private lesson with a maximum of 4 students.

Have you ever wanted to experience the serenity of silently gliding across the water? Get closer to nature and harness the power of the wind. Learn to sail with our US Sailing certified instructors or just enjoy a day on the water! Schedule your day on the water with an instructor to start sailing today.

Intermediate & Advanced Training

Safety & Rescue Boat HANDLING CERTIFICATION

Advanced training option for professional rescuers, first-responders, sailing instructors, regatta safety personnel, etc. If you find yourself towing, righting capsized vessels or assisting other vessel, this is the class for you.

Cruising & Night Operations

These courses are for those looking for more advanced study for larger twin-screw power boats. The course focuses on maneuvering, plotting a course, and navigating by chart, as well as using GPS for navigation. For those interested in chartering vessels internationally, this is the pathway to your IPC or International Proficiency Certification, which is required by most charter companies to charter a boat abroad without hiring a captain.

USCG Licensure

If you already have a lot of time on the water, why not shoot for your Merchant Mariner Credential? This is a captains license, which will allow you to operate a vessel, and carry passengers, for hire. However, many recreational boaters take this course for the immense knowledge & safety information that will be taught.

ALL LEVELS - Private Instruction

All of our training opportunities are offered through private instruction. Gain individualized instruction tailored to your goals or complete one of the above certification courses. Private instruction is typically offered in an own-boat tuition model, where the student is hiring the instructor to come onto their personal vessel. However, depending on your location, students can charter a vessel from a local charter company to utilize for private instruction.
