  • The ASPH course is an abbreviated version of the SPH certification that excludes the 8-hour classroom education and focuses on hands-on boat handling instruction. This is a 6-8 hour course and 80% of that time is on-the-water instruction. In the morning, we will focus on close-quarters maneuvering & high-speed maneuvering/drills in the afternoon. To receive the official US Sailing/Powerboating certification, students will be tested via a written exam (50 Qs) and practical evaluation throughout the on-water drills. A textbook and review questions are provided in advance to prepare.

Safety & Rescue Boat Handling Course

  • The US Powerboating Safety & Rescue Boat Handling (SRBH) course is an 8-10 hour hands-on, on-the-water course for individuals who use powerboats to perform safety and rescue functions; regatta personnel, sailing instructors, marine patrols, police and fire rescue personnel, and more. Many of the skills that are taught require good boat-handling skills and sailing knowledge; emergency radio protocol, assisted capsize recovery, search & rescue operations, towing, steering a range, use of bearing & GPS.
