We will learn about engine trouble shooting, docking, launching, approaching a mooring, vessel handling at high and low speeds, and more! Requirements for vessel owners:
Thank you so much for allowing your vessel to be used for boating safety education. Every vessel must have ALL USCG required equipment for their vessel on board along with the following items:
an anchor (2 if only anchor is on windlass)
dock lines (min of 2 10' lines & 1 = LOA)
first aid kit
enough fuel for 4 hours of running time (we will not have time to stop for gas)
If you are unsure of what equipment is required for your vessel please contact N/S. You will be asked to work with a partner (or two) on your vessel. If you have a preference of who you'd like to work with, please indicate above. We will do our best to ACCOMMODATE your wishes but we can not GUARANTEE that your preference will be possible.
Requirements for all participants:
All participants may be REQUIRED to wear their life jackets throughout the clinic (on docks and boats) so please make sure to bring a comfortable one.
It is the student's responsibility to have any state-required boating certification prior to this course.
Consumption of alcohol during the course, or prior to, is strictly prohibited.
